GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A. , the largest low-cost and low-fare airline in Latin America, has joined the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group , which unites airlines and technology providers in a joint drive to accelerate the development of new, sustainable aviation fuels for commercial use.

Jatropha “is considered the leading contender to make biodiesel,” said Kevin Smith, vice president for Latin America for Abundant Biofuels, a company formed three years ago. Jatropha “resembles a coffee bush.” Smith said.
