(TTC), a member of the Toyota Group of Companies and Sogo Sosha, is planning to expand its bio-diesel investments by developing a large-scale alternative energy production complete with a jatropha plantation project and a refinery complex in the county to supply Toyota Motor automobiles and other Toyota Group companies.

Lee County is now in the biodiesel fuel business. Commissioners voted 3-2 to help fund the construction of a biodiesel processing plant by pledging $500,000 to Florida BioFuels LLC.
